Dr Thomas B. Courtney

Tom is a Partner with Arthur Cox where he is Head of the Company Compliance & Governance group. Tom is the author of The Law of Private Companies (2nd ed. 2002), one of the leading textbooks on Irish company law and co-editor of Companies Acts 1963-2009. He is currently one of the 20 non-governmental expert-members appointed to the EU Commission's Advisory Group on Company Law and Corporate Governance, established by Commission's Decision (2005/380/EC), who advises the EU Commission on company law reform.

Mission Statement

The goal of the Company Law Review Group is that Ireland should have an efficient world-class company law infrastructure. To that end, the Review Group seeks to promote enterprise, facilitate commerce and encourage commercial probity.
